Lets talk about vintage...

Let’s talk about “Vintage”..

Vintage items are just that “vintage.” But what actually is vintage? Some people say it has to be at least 20 years old. I don’t think you can put a date on things to determine if something is vintage any more because of all the reproductions that are out there.

Well, we love vintage and want all vintage sellers and buyers to be able to find that special “I got to have” item on www.craftique.us.

Vintage clothes, jewelry, accessories, all can be sold on craftique.us. Cars and real estate aren’t going to be on craftique because we just do not want those type items on the site.

Now I had a question from a reader about selling vintage appliances, Yes they are allowed. I myself have a harvest gold stove and am looking for a fridge to match! Is it vintage, sure is so things like this can be sold on www.craftique.us.

Remember when pink kitchens were the vogue, well those items are in hot demand!

I would love to have one of the pink dinette sets but it just wouldn’t go with Harvest Gold.

But then again I can change my mind.

Vintage shoes are another really hot item to be selling as demand is high for NOS (new old stock) shoes. There are a lot of new shoes that are made to LOOK like they are really the vintage but some how shoe makers just can’t get the LOOK right.

So hang onto those old shoes and start your own shoe boutique with craftique.us.

Vintage items are used and not all will be perfect because with time and wear things might get a little worn. Buyers know this but we (I am a big buyer of vintage) like it when a seller describes if an item has some wear or a small something that is not right. Usually it doesn’t matter to me because I can stitch up a small hole in a dress or color over a spot on shoes that is worn off.

So always give good descriptions for your vintage items and you will have happy customers that come back. I always am a repeat customer because I can trust my seller with their listing descriptions.

“Vintage toys are another good item to have to buy and sell as the market or these is “over the top!” I wish I had all my (grown) son’s “He-man” toys but I threw them all away when he didn’t play with them any more. I can’t believe what was in my mind to throw away all the G.I. Joe toys because he had original ones! I still think about it today! So, hang on to those old toys as you just never know when the demand for them comes about!

Oh, before I forget kitchen gadgets, old vintage ones are excellent items to buy and sell! Does anyone remember the metal ice cube makers or the hand cranked egg beaters? Items like these are easy to ship and being most are metal don’t get damaged in shipping.

So, if you are “garage sale” looking or “flea market” hunting grab them up if you see them!

Well, enough for today have a great vintage dress suppose to be coming in the mail today and I am watching for the mailman!

Happy Hunting to All!!
